HaldolPharmacological action
Neuroleptic. The mechanism of the expressed antipsychotic action. Causes a moderate sedation. Besides the preparation renders antiemetic, febrifugal, anticonvulsant and antihistamine action.
Indications
- Psychomotor excitation of a various genesis (including at a mania, a dementia, an oligophrenia, a psychopathy, acute and chronic schizophrenia, an alcoholism);
- Delirium and hallucinations of a various parentage (at acute and chronic schizophrenia, paranoica conditions, an acute psychosis);
- An acute disturbing-depressive syndrome with excitation (agitated depression);
- Excitation, aggression, behaviour disorders at elderly and children's age;
- A stammering;
- It is long remaining vomiting steady against therapy and a hiccup;
Dosage regimen
Establish individually depending on age, a clinical picture and the previous reactions of the patient to other neuroleptics.
At acute psychoses the adult enter a preparation in a dose of 5-10 mg. If necessary in the specified dose it is possible to enter a preparation repeatedly 1-2 times with 30-40 minutes an interval before reception of desirable therapeutic effect. The maximum daily dose makes 30-40 mg.
In case of an acute alcoholic psychosis Haloperidolum is entered i.v. in a dose by of 5-10 mg, if necessary preparation introduction repeat.
At alcoholic the deliriums, accompanied by anxiety, Haloperidolum enter i.v. in the form of infusion in a dose of 10-20 mg; usually the rate of administering makes 5-10 mg/mines (no more than 5 mg/30 sec).
For intake the average daily dose for adults makes 2 mg. If necessary specified dose can be enlarged before reception of steady therapeutic effect, and then gradually to reduce to lower maintenance dose.
In the absence of clinical improvement during 1 month to continue treatment it is not recommended.
Side effect
From party TSNS: in the therapy beginning drowsiness can be observed; at longer application the tremor, rising of a muscle tone and other symptoms of a parkinsonism.
Contraindications
- The diseases of the central nervous system accompanied extrapyramidal disturbances;
- Pregnancy;
- A lactemia (thoracal feeding);
- Depressions (except agitated depressions).
Pregnancy and lactemia
Haloperidolum is contraindicative to application at pregnancy in view of possibility of its negative influence on a fetation.
In need of application of Haloperidolum in a lactemia it is necessary to stop thoracal feeding.
Special indicatings
In preparation application the alcohol use is forbidden.
In case of simultaneous application of Haloperidolum and indirect anticoagulants at
Drowsiness and the symptoms of a parkinsonism arising at reception of Haloperidolum, spontaneously stop at reduction of a dose of a preparation or the time termination of treatment. In case of development of a late dyskinesia it is necessary to lower gradually a dose of Haloperidolum and to prescribe other preparation.
Influence on ability to driving of motor transport and to management of mechanisms
To the patients accepting Haloperidolum, it is necessary to abstain from employment by potentially dangerous kinds of the activity demanding special attention and fast psychomotor reactions.
Overdosage
Symptoms: a muscle tension, the general or local tremor, drowsiness, an arterial hypotension, sometimes - an arterial hypertensia. In the extremely serious cases - a coma, a respiratory depression, a shock.
Treatment: the specific antidote is not present. In case of preparation reception inside if the condition of the patient allows, it is possible to wash out a stomach then to prescribe the activated coal. At a respiratory depression it is necessary to resort to the PULMONARY ventilation. For circulation improvement i.v. enter plasma or an albumin solution, and also Noradrenalinum (adrenaline in these cases to apply categorically it is forbidden!).
Medicinal interaction
At simultaneous application of Haloperidolum and indirect anticoagulants reduction of effect of the last is observed.
