Nizoral (Ketoconazole)Pharmacological action
Antimicotic preparation for the external application. Renders fungicidal action. The action mechanism consists in change of lipide structure of a membrane of mushrooms. It is active concerning dermatophytes: Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton floccosum; yeast and yeast-like mushrooms Candida, Pityrosporum.
The preparation quickly reduces an ecdysis and an itch bound to dandruff, a seborrheal eczema.
Indications
Treatment and preventive maintenance of mycotic affections of a skin of a pilar part of a head:
- Dandruff;
- A seborrheal eczema;
Dosage regimen
Shampoo put on the amazed sites on 3-5 mines, then wash out water.
At treatment of dandruff and a seborrheal eczema shampoo is used by 2 times a week within 3-4 weeks;
For preventive maintenance of dandruff and a seborrheal eczema use once a week or 1 time in 2 weeks;
Side effect
Local reactions: seldom - a skin boring, an itch, the contact dermatitis, the raised fat content or a xerasia, intensifying of abaissement of hair; on occasion - a discoloration of hair (at patients with chemically damaged or a grey hair).
Usually the preparation is well transferred.
Contraindications
- A hypersensibility to preparation components.
Pregnancy and lactemia
Application of shampoo Nizoral at pregnancy and in a lactemia is not contraindicative, since at external application Nizoral practically is not absorbed in a system blood flow.
Special indicatings
The seborrheal dermatitis and dandruff are often accompanied by the strengthened abaissement of hair. In rare instances strengthened abaissement of hair became perceptible at application of Nizoral shampoo.
Overdosage
Treatment: at casual intake of special measures it is not required; supporting measures are shown only. It is forbidden to induce vomiting and to spend a gastric lavage.
Medicinal interaction
As at external application of Nizoral shampoo practically is not exposed to system absorption, interaction with other medical products is improbable.
Conditions and periods of storage
The preparation should be stored at temperature from 15 to 25 C, in a place inaccessible to children. A period of validity - 3 years.
