Noroxin (Norfloxacin) - antibioticPharmacological action
A preparation disinfecting urinary ways, possessing a wide spectrum of action. Operates bactericidally (destroys bacteria). Noroxin is active concerning the majority of Gram-negative microorganisms: Es - cherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp., Morganella morganii, Klebsiella spp., including Klebsiella pneumoniae; Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Citrobacter spp., Yersinia spp., Providencia, Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa; and also concerning the microorganisms producing beta-laktamazy (the enzymes blasting Penicillinums).
Indications to application
Acute and chronic infections of urinary ways (uncomplicated and complicated), caused by originators sensitive to a preparation.
Way of application and dose
Before appointment it is desirable for patient of a preparation to define sensitivity to it of the microflora which have caused disease at the given patient. The usual dosage makes 0,4 g 2 times a day. The maximum daily dose - 1,5 Duration of treatment - 7-14 days; longer treatment is if necessary spent.
To patients with disturbance of function of kidneys at a creatinine clearance (from an end-product of a nitric exchange - a creatinine) more than 20 ml/mines Noroxin prescribe rates of purification of blood in a usual dose. At a clearance of a creatinine below 20 ml/mines (or at level of a serumal creatinine more than 5 mg/100 of ml) prescribe half of usual dose of Noroxin 2 times a day or a full dose of 1 times a day. To the patients who are on a hemodialysis (a method of clearing of blood), prescribe half of usual dose of a preparation.
Simultaneous Noroxin reception and antiacid (reducing acidity of a stomach) agents reduces intensity of Noroxin absorption. In this connection Noroxin is necessary to prescribe 1-2 hours prior to or not less, than in 4 hours after reception of the specified agents.
Side effect
A nausea, an anorexia (absence of appetite), diarrhoeia, a headache, feeling of weariness, drowsiness.
Contraindications
Hepatic insufficiency, pregnancy, feeding by a breast.
With an epilepsy, attacks of cramps in the anamnesis (were earlier), with the expressed disturbances of function of kidneys Noroxin is necessary to prescribe the patient with care. It is not recommended to prescribe a preparation to children (age from 7 till 12-13 years). In treatment by a preparation patients should receive liquid enough (under the control of a diuresis of a/uropoiesis/).
