Sumycin (Tetracycline)Sumycin (Tetracycline) is the antimicrobial substance produced Streptomyces aurefaciens or other related organisms.
Indications to application
Apply Tetracyclinum inside. Inside prescribe sick of a pneumonia (pneumonia), a bronchitis (an inflammation of bronchuses), a purulent pleuritis (an inflammation of covers of a lung), subacute septic (bound to presence of microbes in blood) an endocarditis (an inflammation of internal cavities of heart), a bacteriemic and amebic dysentery, a whooping cough, quinsy, a scarlatina, a gonorrhea, (an infectious disease transferred to the person, as a rule, from agricultural animals), a tularemia (the acute infectious disease transferred to the person from animals),returnable typhoids, a psittacosis (the acute infectious disease transferred to the person from birds), at infectious diseases of urinary ways, chronic cholecystites (an inflammation of a cholic bubble), a purulent meningitis (a purulent inflammation of covers of a brain) and at other infectious diseases caused by microorganisms, sensitive to this antibiotic. Tetracyclinum can be applied also to the prevention of infectious complications at surgical patients. Use Sumycin at infectious diseases of eyes, combustions, phlegmons (acute, accurately not circumscribed purulent inflammation), mastites, etc.
There are data about appreciable efficiency of Sumycin at a cholera.
Sumycin and other preparations of this number use for gonorrhea treatment.
At serious septic diseases Sumycin can be applied together with other antibiotics.
Way of application and dose
Before appointment it is desirable for patient of a preparation to define sensitivity to it of the microflora which have caused disease at the given patient. The adult prescribe inside on 0,25 g everyone 6 h, in need of 2 g a day. To children is more senior 7 years prescribe on 25 mg/kg everyone 6 h. It is necessary to swallow of capsules not chewing. Tetracyclinum-depot the adult prescribe on 1 tablet through everyone 12 h, the next days-on 1 tablet pass (0,375). To children in the first days prescribe on 1 tablet through everyone 12 h, and about the next days - on 1 tablet in day (0,12). Suspension is prescribed to children on 25-30 mg/kg a day in 4 receptions through everyone 6 h (1 drop - 6 mg of Tetracyclinum). The syrup is prescribed the adult on 17 ml a day in 4 receptions; for preparation of such quantity of a syrup it is required 1-2 g granules. To children prescribe a syrup from calculation of granules/kg of mass of a body of 20-30 mg 4 times a day (1 ml - 30 mg of Tetracyclinum). For preparation of a syrup of water of 40 ml (4 measured spoons) pour out in a vial and shake.
Sumycin Side effect
Usually now side effetcs, however, as well as other antibiotics possessing a wide spectrum of antibacterial action, can cause by-effects: appetite dropping, a nausea, vomiting, disorder of function of an intestine (easy or strong diarrhoeia), changes of mucosas of a mouth and a gastroenteric tract (a glossitis a tongue/inflammation/, a stomatitis a/inflammation of a mucosa of an oral cavity/, a gastritis a stomach/inflammation/, a proctitis a rectum/inflammation/), can arise allergic dermal reactions, a Quincke's edema (an allergic edema), etc.
Tetracyclinum and other preparations of this number can raise sensitivity of a skin to action of solar beams (photosensitization).
It is noticed, that long application of Tetracyclinum and other preparations of this group in formation of a teeth (appointment to children in the first months of a life) can cause in children dark yellow colouring of a teeth (preparation adjournment in an adamantine substance of tooth and a dentine).
At long application of preparations of group of Tetracyclinums there can be the complications caused by development of a candidiasis (a lesion of a skin and mucosas, and also a hematosepsis/infection of blood with microorganisms/, caused mushroom Candida albicans).
In treatment by Tetracyclinum it is necessary to watch a condition of the patient carefully. In case of occurrence of signs of a hypersensibility to a preparation and by-effects do a break in treatment, if necessary prescribe other antibiotic (not from group of Tetracyclinums).
Contraindications
Tetracyclinum is contraindicative at a hypersensibility to it and to related to it to antibiotics (to Oxytetracyclinum, etc.), at fungoid diseases. With care it is necessary to apply a preparation at diseases of kidneys, at a leukopenia (depression of level of leucocytes in blood). It is not necessary to prescribe Tetracyclinum (and other preparations of this group) to pregnant women and children are elderly till 8 years.
