The antihypertensive. Blocks receptors of angiotensin II (subtype AT1) in various tissues, including cortical substance of adrenals, a brain, kidneys, a liver, a smooth musculation of vessels, heart and interferes with development of effects of angiotensin II. Reduces an arterial vasoconstriction, the general peripheric resistance of vessels, pressure in a small circle of a circulation, lowers pressure of jamming in pulmonary vessels, Aldosteronum liberation brakes, warns a delay of sodium and water in an organism. Raises tolerance to an exercise stress at patients with a heart failure. After unitary reception hypotensive action reaches a maximum in 6 hours and within 24 hours decreases. Stable dropping of arterial pressure at the majority of patients is observed by 3-6th week of course application. It is quickly soaked up from GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT. The maximum concentration is reached in 1 hour (Losartan) and 3-4 hours (an active metabolite), the semideducing period make 1,5-2 hours and 6-9 hours accordingly. Kidneys excrete approximately 35 %, with excrements - approximately 60 %.

Arterial hypertensia, chronic heart failure.
Cozaar Contraindications
Hypersensibility, pregnancy, lactemia. Restrictions to application: children's age (safety and efficiency of application for children are not defined).
Cozaar Side effect

Cozaar Interaction
Strengthens (mutually) effect of other antihypertensives (diuretic, beta adrenoblockers). Raises risk of a hyperpotassemia at joint application with potassium preparations.
Cozaar Overdosage
Symptoms: a hypotension, change of frequency of warm reductions (a tachycardia or the bradycardia caused by excitation of a vagus nerve). Treatment: an artificial diuresis, symptomatic therapy.
Cozaar Special indicatings
With a liver pathology it is necessary for patient to prescribe smaller doses. With care apply at a bilateral stenosis of renal arteries or a renal artery stenosis of a unique kidney, at the moderate or serious disturbance of function of kidneys, a congestive heart failure, at patients with a dehydration or a hyponatremia.
