Lowers a BP, reduces an afterload by heart. Dilates peripheric veins, reducing also a preload on heart. Improves a system and endocardiac hemodynamic at patients with a congestive heart failure. Reduces pressure in a small circle of a circulation.
Indications
- An arterial hypertensia;
- A congestive heart failure (as a part of the combined therapy);
- A syndrome and a Raynaud's disease;
- Symptomatic therapy of the dysuric disorders caused by a good-quality hyperplasia of a prostate (in preoperative preparation).
Dosage regimen
Establish individually.
At an arterial hypertensia the initial dose averages 500 mkg. The first dose of a preparation accept in the evening. At good shipping gradually (each 3-7 days) raise a dose. The average therapeutic dose makes 2-3 mg/sut; the maximum dose - 20 mg/sut; frequency rate of application - 2-3 times/days
At a heart failure the initial dose makes 500 mkg 2-3 times/days If necessary a dose it is possible gradually (each 2-3 days) to enlarge to 4 mg/days At patients with appreciable decompensation dose is possible to enlarge faster, within 1-2 days.
An average therapeutic single dose of 1-2 mg; frequency rate of reception - 2 times/days If necessary a dose it is possible to enlarge about 2 mg 3 times/days
At symptomatic therapy of dysuric disorders at a hyperplasia of prostate Prazosin prescribe in a single dose of 500 mkg within 1st week; then - 1 mg within 2nd week; from 3rd till 6th week - 2 mg. The preparation is accepted by 2 times/24h, in the morning and in the evening. It is not necessary to exceed a single dose of 2 mg.
Side effect
From cardiovascular system: an arterial hypotension (more often orthostatic), palpitation.
From party TSNS: giddiness, a headache, dream disorders, delicacy, undue fatigability; seldom - sight disturbance, a sonitus.
From the alimentary system: seldom - a nausea, vomiting, a diarrhoeia, a constipation, dryness in a mouth.
The other: a dyspnea, diaphoresis intensifying.
Contraindications
- An arterial hypotension;
- The congestive heart failure which has arisen against a chronic cardial compression, a cardiac tamponade, heart diseases with the lowered pressure of filling of a left ventricle;
- A hypersensibility to a preparation.
Pregnancy and lactemia
Adequate and well controllable researches of safety of Prazosin application at pregnancy and in a lactemia (thoracal feeding) preparation application was not spent to these periods probably only, therefore when the prospective advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a foetus or the baby.
In need of Prazosin application in a lactemia it is necessary to solve a question on the termination of thoracal feeding.
Special indicatings

Overdosage
Symptoms: an arterial hypotension.
Treatment: the patient should give horizontal position with the raised feet; if necessary - plasma substituting solutions, angiotonic preparations. It is necessary to supervise carefully a condition of the patient (including function of kidneys).
Medicinal interaction
At simultaneous Prazosin application with others agents, diuretics, beta adrenoblockers probably intensifying of hypotensive effect.
