Kytril (Granisetron)Pharmacological action
Antiemetic preparation. Is the selective antagonist (5-HT3) receptors of the central and peripheric nervous system.
Indications
- Preventive maintenance and nausea and vomiting treatment at therapy by cytostatics at children and adults;
- Preventive maintenance of a nausea and vomiting after surgical operations.
Dosage regimen
Inside the adult prescribe on 1 mg 2 times/sut in carrying out of cytostatic therapy. The first dose should be accepted not earlier than before 1 h prior to the beginning of cytostatic therapy.
I.v. the adult prescribe 1 time/sut in a dose of 3 mg by slow (not less than 30 sec) injections or driply in 20-50 ml of an infusional solution within 5 minutes
If necessary probably additional i.v. Kytril introduction (with an interval not less than 10 mines). The maximum daily dose - 9 mg.
For preventive maintenance (prior to the beginning of anaesthesia) and treatments of postoperative vomiting prescribe unitary inside or i.v. slowly (not less than 30 sec) 1 mg.

Side effect

Pregnancy and lactemia

Special indicatings
Because Kytril can reduce a peristalsis of the bottom departments of an intestine, patients with signs of a partial obstruction of an intestine after Kytril introduction should be under observation of the doctor.

Overdosage
