Motilium (Domperidone)Pharmacological action
Antiemetic preparation, motility stimulator GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT. Domperidone - the antagonist of Dopaminum possessing, it is similar to Metoclopramidum and some neuroleptics, antiemetic properties. Domperidone application is seldom accompanied by extrapyramidal by-effects, especially at adults, but Domperidone stimulates allocation of Prolactinum from a pituitary body. Antiemetic action, probably, is caused by a combination peripheric action and antagonism to Dopaminum receptors in a trigger zone of chemoceptors.
Motilium does not render action on gastric secretion.
Indications
- The complex of the dyspeptic symptoms often associating with a stomach problems, a zheludochno-ESOPHAGEAL reflux, an esophagitis (feeling of overflow in epigastriums, sensation of an abdominal distention, a pain in the top part of a stomach, an eructation, a meteorism, a nausea, vomiting, a heartburn and a regurgitation);
- A nausea and the vomiting of a functional, organic, infectious parentage caused by radiotheraphy, medicinal therapy or diet disturbance;
- A nausea and the vomiting caused by agonists of Dopaminum in case of their application at Parkinson illness (such as L-dopa and Bromocriptinum);

Dosage regimen

If necessary specified dose can be doubled (except for children aged till 1 year). The maximum daily dose - 2.4 mg/kg of mass of a body, but no more 80 mg.
At a nausea and vomiting by the adult and to children is more senior 12 years prescribe on 20 mg 3-4 times/sut before food intake and before a dream. The maximum daily dose - 80 mg.
To children at the age from 5 till 12 years prescribe on 10 mg 3-4 times/sut before food intake and before a dream. The preparation in the form of suspension is prescribed from calculation of kg of mass of a body by of 5 ml/10 (that there correspond 500 mkg/kg of mass of a body) 3-4 times/sut before food intake and before a dream. This dose is reached by double filling of a pipette. The maximum daily dose - 2.4 mg/kg of mass of a body, but no more 80 mg.
At renal insufficiency the interval augmentation between preparation reception is recommended. Since very small percent of a preparation is deduced by kidneys in not changed kind hardly there is a necessity of correction of a single dose at patients with renal insufficiency. However at repeated appointment frequency of reception should be reduced to 1-2 times/sut depending on gravity of renal insufficiency, the dose decline also can be demanded.
Rules of application of suspension
Before the use the vial with suspension should be stirred up. Suspension is delivered in the packing protected from casual opening by children, therefore the vial should be opened as follows:
1. To press from above on a plastic cover of a vial, simultaneously turning it counter-clockwise.
2. To take out the unscrewed cover.
3. To take a pipette from a cover (it is delivered only with a vial of 100 ml).

Side effect

From party TSNS: extrapyramidal symptoms (it is very rare - at children; in single instances - at adults); are completely reversible and disappear after the treatment termination.
From endocrine system: the amenorrhea is possible gynecomastias.
Allergic reactions: seldom - an eruption, an urticaria.
Contraindications
- A gastroenteric bleeding;
- Mechanical impassability or punching at which stimulation of impellent function of a stomach can be dangerous;
- A hypersensibility to preparation components.
Pregnancy and lactemia
About Motilium application at pregnancy it is not enough data.
By present time there are no data about rising of risk of developmental anomalies for the person. Nevertheless, Motilium application at pregnancy (especially in I trimester) is possible only in cases when the expected advantage of therapy for mother surpasses potential risk for a foetus.
Overdosage
Symptoms: drowsiness, a disorientation and extrapyramidal reactions, especially at children.

Conditions and periods of storage
