Oxytrol (Oxybutynin)Pharmacological action

The active substance of a preparation - Oxybutynin a hydrochloride - has relaxing an effect on an unstriated muscle a bladder both at the expense of direct antispastic influence, and owing to anticholinergic effect, as a result of blockade of interaction of Acetylcholinum.
Oxytrol causes a muscle relaxation a bladder in patients with astable function of a bubble, enlarges its volume.
Indications
- The incontience of urine caused by instability of function of a bladder of neurogenic character (a hyperreflexia Oxytrol, for example at a multiple sclerosis or spina bifida) or the idiopathic nature;
- The night uracrasia at children is more senior 5 years (in the form of monotherapy and in a combination with other medical products).
Dosage regimen
The adult the preparation is prescribed on 5 mg by 2-3 times/days to Patients of advanced age prescribe on 5 mg 2 times/days

Side effect
From the alimentary system: dryness in a mouth, a nausea, a constipation, discomfort in abdominal area, a diarrhoeia.
From party TSNS: a headache, drowsiness, giddiness, visual acuity depression.
Dermatological reactions: dryness of integuments.
The other: inflow (more often at children), the complicated emiction, an ischuria, arrhythmias.
Contraindications
- Appreciable disturbances of outflow of urine from a bladder when the precipitation of the detained urine is possible;
- Intestinal impassability;
- An intestine atony;
- A serious ulcerative colitis;
- Expansion of a colonic intestine;
- A myasthenia;
- A glaucoma;
- A lactemia (thoracal feeding);
- Children's age till 5 years.
Pregnancy and lactemia
At pregnancy Oxytrol apply only under strict indications.

Special indicatings

Overdosage
Symptoms: intensifying of expression of by-effects, disturbances from party TSNS (anxiety, excitation, psychosis development), cardiovascular system (BP depression, vascular insufficiency), respiratory insufficiency, a paralysis, a coma.
Treatment: an emergency gastric lavage, slow i.v. Physostigminum introduction in a dose of 1-2 mg (if necessary repeated, in a dose to 5 mg). In case of fever development spend symptomatic therapy. At the expressed anxiety or excitation i.v. enter 10 mg of Diazepamum. At a tachycardia i.v. enter propranolol.
