The smokers considering, that their lungs are in safety as instead of cigarettes they smoke tubes or cigars, deceive itself. Inhalation of a tobacco smoke by any way is destructive, scientists from the medical centre of the Colombian University, the USA confirm.

In new research under the guidance of doctor Grehema Barra (Graham Barr), professors of medicine from the Colombian university, affirms, that any tobacco products, whether it be cigarettes, tobacco for a tube or a cigar, are equally hazardous to health. Despite it, many smokers are absolutely assured, that cigars and tubes are less harmful to lungs as at their smoking the smoke is not inhaled. To confirm or deny it, the professor and its colleagues have studied influence of smoking of a tube and cigars on health more than 3500 adult aged people from 48 till 90 years which were taking part in research, devoted to illnesses of heart. From them approximately 9 from 100 when or in the life smoked a tube, and 11 from 100 took a great interest in cigars.

To be convinced of that the tobacco smoke gets to lungs, researchers measured level cotinine - a product of a metabolism of nicotine - in blood. Cotinine level in blood at smokers of cigars and tubes was more low, than at fans of cigarettes (10 % and 20 % accordingly from level at smokers of cigarettes), but nevertheless scientists recognised as its appreciable.

Influence of smoking on breath function was measured by a lung-tester: at such procedure the person blows in a tube for definition of the maximum volume of air exhaled in second. Smokers of tubes and cigars twice suffered obstruction of air ways, than non-smoking is more often. Obstruction level changed depending on that, predilection of the examinee for smoking was how much strong.

Results of work show, that smoking of a tube and cigars is interfaced to hit in an organism of toxins and with augmentation of risk of development of chronic obstructive illness of lungs.
