Preparation application «Meridia» enlarges risk of an infarct or a stroke at full people. Scientists have published results of experimental work in New England Journal of Medicine.

During research experts have studied data of 10 744 people, suffering excess weight. The part from them suffered from diseases of heart, diabetes of the second type and other chronic diseases. The state of health of the patients accepting a preparation for weight reduction was investigated.

As a result scientists have come to conclusion: application of preparations for growing thin really frames threat to health and a life. But only at those who and so it is predisposed to similar diseases. Those who suffered diabetes of the second type, but did not complain of heart, did not show any negative reactions to preparation application. One of components «Meridia» and to it of similar medicines is guilty in such negative effect. It is called sibutramine. The substance sibutramine suppresses appetite, in a special way influencing on certain sites of a brain.

The principal of research doctor Phillip James, the expert in the field of excess weight, has declared, that results of work of its group convincingly prove the following. It is not necessary to register preparations for weight reduction to people who suffer cardiovascular diseases. But healthy people can accept such medicines without fear.
