The hemodialysis domiciliary will replace kidney transplantation

hemodialysisThe house hemodialysis at a pathology of kidneys by efficiency is similar to transplantation of the organ received from the died donor, informs HealthDay. To such conclusion the Canadian scientists have come, the report on which research will be published in September number Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.

Feature of a house hemodialysis consists that the patient undergoes procedure within 6-8 hours that exceeds duration of the standard dialysis spent in the conditions of a hospital. Thus the hemodialysis domiciliary can practically be spent every night.

Researchers within 12 years observed 1239 patients with various diseases of kidneys. The part from them underwent dialysis procedure domiciliary, other part has transferred transplantation of the kidney received from the died donor. Then scientists have compared a mortality in both groups of examinees to a similar indicator for the patients who have transferred transplantation of a kidney, received from the live donor.
Upon termination of research scientists have found out, that for the 12-year-old period 14,7 percent of the patients, passing a house hemodialysis have died. Whereas the mortality in group of the examinees who have received a donor kidney from the died person, has made 14,3 percent. The similar indicator for the patients who have transferred transplantation of a kidney from the live donor, has made 8,5 percent.

According to a hemodialysis managing unit domiciliary the Main hospital of Toronto (Toronto General Hospital) Christopher Chena (Christopher Chan), longer and frequent dialysis which is carried out in house conditions, has appeared more effective in comparison with standard procedure. Doctor Chen has added, that the hemodialysis domiciliary is represented worthy alternative of transplantation of those patients to which kidney transplantation is contraindicative on a state of health.

Among the developed countries Canadas is on one of last places on number of transplantations. From 4195 Canadians expecting transplantation, 71 percent requires a donor kidney. According to research data, about two percent of patients die, not having waited transplantations.
