The human immunodeficiency virus is transferred, being attached to spermatozoons

spermatozoonsTo such conclusion the group of scientists of University of Buenos Aires (University of Buenos Aires), Argentina, under Ana Ceballos guidance has come. The report on their research is published in The Journal of Experimental Medicine.
Earlier was considered, that the infection caused by a HIV is transferred at sexual contact thanks to the originators which are in a seed liquid, and also containing in leucocytes. Researchers from Argentina have found out, that the HIV can be attached to a surface of spermatozoons.

Having spent a number of experiments on cellular cultures, scientists have come to conclusion, that HIV transfer to dendritic cells of immune system is carried out at their contact to man's sex cells. At a becoming infected dendritic cells do not absorb spermatozoons, and contact superficial receptors of the last.

Researchers have assumed, that spermatozoons from a HIV reach dendritic cells, passing through the microscopical damages of a mucosa inevitably arising at sexual contact. Besides, spermatozoons can contact to finger-shaped processes of dendritic cells which are located at a surface mucous.
