Not hormonal contraceptive for men
Researchers from the USA and Iran have found out a gene which mutation deprives ability spermatozoons to move. Studying questions of inheritance of deafness among the Iranian population, scientific one of universities of Teheran have casually come across changes in gene CATSPER1. The mutation causes absence or misoperation of the fiber which is responsible for movement of spermatozoons. The previous researches of gene CATSPER1 at the mice, spent at the Harward university (Massachusetts, the USA), have shown, that its mutation breaks normal movement of spermatozoons. Teamwork of the Iranian and American scientists has shown the similar mechanism at the person.
According to one of authors of new research of doctor Michael Hilddebrand of University of Iowa (USA), the given opening can lead to working out of preparations for treatment of the rare form of sterility at men.
More significant is possibility of creation of not hormonal agents of man's contraception. Scientists speak about immunologic preparations which will contact fiber CATSPER1, causing formation of the spermatozoons deprived of possibility to move.
