In Italy with a view of an abortion earlier forbidden preparation is resolved to use. Despite protests of Vatican, in the country from 87 % of Catholics Ministry of Health has resolved Mifepristone application - agents for medicamental carrying out of abortions on early terms.

Struggle for preparation legalisation proceeded two years, becoming one more episode in war of Catholic church with abortions and some agents of contraception. One of bishops, Elio Sgreccia, has already promised to doctors and patients who will risk to apply Mifepristone, an excommunication from church.

What have resolved?
Mifepristone, sold in Italy as Mifegyne, it is known also as RU486 - a hormonal preparation. The agent causes tearing away from a wall of a uterus of foetal egg, provoking an abortion and, accordingly,  destruction of an embryos.
In comparison with a surgical currettage medicamental influence on a foetus has a number of unconditional advantages. Most obvious of them - smaller traumatism a female organism. But to speak about full harmlessness of procedure nevertheless it is not necessary. However, Catholic church the moral aspect of a problem more worries: the foetus on any duration of gestation is surveyed by Catholics as the live person and, hence, abortion is equated to murder.

In Italy surgical abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy have legalised in 1978. Even on the second trimester they are possible, but under medical indications - in case of threat of a life of mother or detection of serious defect of a foetus, for example in a case with illness of Down. Abortions are spent free of charge in the state hospitals and for money in private clinics. Therefore in this case it is a question at all that Italy has resolved an abortion as that.

The another matter, that legislatively in this country is registered the right of gynecologists to refuse carrying out of such procedure for personal reasons. As informs AFP, approximately 70 % of doctors of Italy successfully use this right.
In Italy on 100 births 26 abortions are necessary. In the Netherlands, Germany and Spain this indicator much more low. To number of the countries in which abortions in general are forbidden, Niger, Laos, Malta, Chile, El Salvador, Republic Maldives and, that it is no wonder, Vatican concern. In all these states pregnancy will not interrupt on any terms and even at threat of a life of mother.

Influence of such interdiction on a demographic situation should be noted especially. If owing to its small number the interdiction of abortions practically does not influence the population of Vatican, here across Chile, for example, a situation other.
