Known British surgeon Stephen Uestabi (Stephen Westaby) used stem cells for new type of operations which can help remediless warm patients.

During operation which passed in Saloniki, Westaby has established the special pump on heart of the patient which could not pump over independently blood through an organism, and then has entered a portion from six millions stem cells of the patient into its cardiac muscle to help its natural restoration.

Stem cells - special cells of an organism which are capable to change, receiving specialisation in development. So, same stem cells in a human body can develop in cells of vascular, immune or nervous system under certain conditions.
"If affairs go well, I will go to church and I will pray, I am very happy to receive this device and chance of a normal life", - elderly patient Ioannis Manolopulos (Ioannis Manolopoulos) has declared to the channel. Before operation Manolopuloshas lain in hospital four months and has gone through two infarcts. Traditional methods of medicamental treatment and surgery have not helped, and implantation of the warm pump has been recognised by insufficient to help seriously sick heart. Then it has been decided to resort to an experimental technique.
Doctors not only implanted to the patient the device which pumps out blood from the damaged warm ventricle, but also have made an injection of stemcells taken from an osteal brain of the patient.
"We hope, that the combination of the pump with stem cells will help patients to enjoy a life many years", - Christos Papakonstantinou, one of participants of operation has told.

The Greek government has agreed to finance a number of new operations at separate patients while the British National system of public health services of the Great Britain yet does not pay similar experiences.
