The Austrian scientists have found out, that substance a spermidine, in considerable quantities containing in a semen and grapefruits, considerably prolongs term of a life of various organisms.

Earlier it has been established, that the spermidine - a small linear molecule from group of Polyaminums - is necessary for growth and maturing of cells, thus its maintenance in a cell decreases in the course of its ageing.
Researchers from University of Graz added a spermidine in a food unicellular and metaphytes. It has appeared, that growing on a nutrient medium with addition of this Polyaminum yeast lives in 3-4 times more longly, than without it, and human immune cells (their concrete kind is not underlined) - almost three times. Life expectancy of fruit front sights and microscopical roundworms at addition in their nutrition of a spermidine was enlarged approximately by 30 percent. At mice which fed with nutrition rich with Polyaminum, the expressed reduction of age damage of fibers of an organism was observed.

Presumably, such action of a spermidine is caused by its positive influence on genetic regulation of process of an autophagy. It consists in processing by a cell of the components damaged by external factors, for example, by ultra-violet radiation or chemical oxidizers. When the autophagy occurs insufficiently intensively, the cell is overflowed with "garbage" that leads to its  destruction. The spermidine prevents it, at least, partially.
Influence of a spermidine on processes of ageing of the person still should be studied.
