The American scientists have carried out research of the factors playing a key role in development of a latent tuberculosis. The data received during research, can help with working out of new strategy of treatment of this disease.
Professor Russell and its group of Kornelsky university in New York, the USA, have found out communication between the bacteria causing a tuberculosis, and fatty cells.

Tuberculosis microbacteria force macrophages (cells of immune system which are amazed with a bacterium) to accumulate Adeps. This process is capable to cause tuberculosis "awakening". After initial infection with a tuberculosis, the infected immune cells in an organism can "be bridged" in lungs in cellular mass. This structure protects bacteria from destruction by immune system. They can remain, thus, during long time without any external symptoms. Only at small group of people respiratory problems are observed. But, after liberation from protective structure, an infectious bacterium it is capable in short terms to blast lungs of the person.

While researchers very little know about the exact reasons of activization of activity of infectious bacteria. Scientists continue the observations over examinees to define the exact reason. Professor Russell asserts, that their research is very important for working out of new methods of treatment of a tuberculosis - vaccines and chemotherapy programs.
